It’s a no-brainer. Italians know how to live. I know. I’m Italian. So let me brag a bit about the reasons it was probably put on the Godfather of Godfather lists of best places on the planet.
Food. Italy is known for its FOOD. Pasta, pizza, wine, extra Virgin Olive Oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, gelato, panettone, truffles — oh the list goes on.
According to TasteAtlas, Italy tops the 100 finest cuisines in the world again and again. What can I say, people like Italian food. It’s hearty, healthy, satisfying, and comforting, meant to be shared with family and loved ones.

How did the U.S. News Best Countries rankings come up with these ratings, you ask? They used an evaluative scoring framework with the collaboration of WPP, a global marketing and communications services company, utilizing its proprietary BAV brand analytics tool, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The study involved a comprehensive examination of 73 desirable country attributes.
These 73 attributes were then subcategorized into 10 key factors: Adventure, Agility, Cultural Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for Business, Power, Quality of Life and Social Purpose.
Twenty thousand people from around the world took the survey. Although Italy took 15th place overall, she was top meatball in cultural influence and heritage.
