Kristina God Totally Kicked My Butt and it Led to MY Best Month Ever
In response to I’m Gonna Kick Your Butt.

I have been writing on Medium for about 6-months now. In the greater scheme of things, I am still relatively new to this platform.
Although that said I have been a reader here for many years. I was lucky enough to already have 30+ followers when I first started writing, mainly people who knew me.
Initially, I got off to a good start. Within the first 3 months of writing, I had gained (and lost) a top writer status, gained 1k+ followers and received some bonuses which I was most grateful for. Even made it Club $100!
I joined the platform to do what I love most, write. I wasn’t new to writing. I had my first piece published in an anthology about body image by Live Wire Publications when I was just 17.
Since then I have written countless articles and press releases for national and international news and have been a ghost-writer for 20+ years. Supporting brands and even a few celebrities along the way!
The Standstill
Then in September, I stopped ‘spinning’. It was the 1st anniversary of losing my mum and I slumped. When I did try to get back into writing again in October I noticed the algorithm was in a huff with me.
Then came a voice from God! Kristina God that is, and she asked if I would like to join her Bootcamp. The lady is a legend so of course, I said yes. Kristina picked up my hula hoop and got me spinning again!
For the last month, myself and a team of awesome writers have literally had our butts kicked into daily action by God herself!
Accountability

Being part of a Bootcamp of amazing writers has been truly inspiring for me. Not only have we learned from each other and shared best practices, we have held each other accountable for showing up and delivering.
It’s made me realise as writers, although most of us are solitary creatures, we are not islands, as John Donne so wisely once said…
“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent.”
To be a successful writer you need to find your tribe or at least build a bridge to the mainland. Find a team of people who catch your hula hoop before it falls.
If it does fall they will be the ones to pick it up, hand it back to you and tell you to spin again.
As writers it’s important for us to have each other’s backs and support one another, we all bring our own unique stories to the table.
Thanks, Kristina for kicking my butt when I stopped writing in the middle of my momentarium and for picking up that hoop and telling me to spin again!
