You hold onto your faith and throw yourself wholeheartedly into your work. After all, Lorenzo saved your life and managed to befriend Dara, he can’t be all bad.
The day of your expected release comes, then goes. It looked just the same as all the others — cooking, cleaning, foot rubbing.
By now you have gotten to know Lorenzo very well. You know which is his favourite mug. You know the arches of his feet are always the sorest spot, and you know that when he’s really, really relaxed in the tub, he will hum jaunty tunes of his own composition.
