I believe karma works in mysterious ways. Sometimes very surprising how quickly things can happen. I seen this firsthand on Monday and went to bed feeling very happy.

Monday’s, I go to my clinic for counseling and to pick up my medication. I live a hour away from the clinic I attend, and I take a medical shared ride. I usually meet some unique drivers. Monday was a little different than most.

I get into the van and we start driving to my destination. Hour is a long time to have a conversation with a stranger. This was my first time meeting him so yes, complete stranger.

Talking to him and finding out what a hard time him and his family had been having. He used to drive for uber before coming to the medical driving business. He said it paid quite well. Was enough to support his wife and three boys. (Growing boys might I add. Anyone with boys knows they eat like they are never full).

Well that all ended when he crashed his car. Unable to drive it anymore was so bad. He had no car for work or his family’s transportation needs. He was out of work for three months before finding this job. They supply the van and they get to take it home. So, at least he could stop and get groceries before ending his day. They just cannot drive the vans for personal things. Stopping on the way home after their shift is ok, but nothing more.

Well that hour ride I really had gotten to know this man and he is having a very hard time trying to get back on his feet. He told me the main meal in their house is peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches. I was almost in tears. I know the hard struggle it can be with no money coming in and taking care of children.

I had a bunch of ground beef in my freezer because every year my husband gets a half a cow just for working on the dairy farm he works at. We do not eat much ground beef. I gave him 10 packs of ground beef. I just could not see his family eating just peanutbutter and jelly every night.

I felt very happy that I was able to help him out a little bit. I was not looking for anything in return, just knowing his family could make a few meals out of that was all the payment I needed.

On our way back from the clinic we stopped to get coffee and I get a couple scratch lottery tickets. I never win but I like playing the crossword ones for only 2 usd and 3 usd. This is where karma thanked me for being so giving. One ticket I thought was just a 50 usd winner but, when my daughter took it to the gas station to cash it in… 100 usd she had gotten back. We were both lost on how it was 100. I also gave that to my daughter whom was low on cash.

I did not need that food as bad as the driver needed it and same with the money. My daughter needed that more than I did. It truly was a blessed day.
