Joy of Walking and Contemplating.
Walking is good exercise, but there’s so much more!

Walking Contexts.
Couple walking oblivious to all, Family shopping mother herding kids, Schoolkids chatting ignoring trees, Walking alone in company of trees and whispered memories.
Walking Motivation.
Back in late 90's Health scares overweight and feeling “it’s all too-hard”, Attended doctor and hospital clinic, Welter of conflicting information and advice, Must admit confused, Decided to just take responsibility for wellness, Diet exercise and walking, Monitored by long suffering family doctor.
Son helped with exercise plan, Concentrated on weight lifting, Doctor arranged regular blood and full body checks set guidelines for walking exercise.
Walking as Exercise.
Given age and legs’ condition target set for steps per walk pace speed and pace length targets.
Idea being to start gently and over time try and achieve targets without exceeding pain thresholds, Been doing it for nigh on 25 years.
Walking integrated with diet and exercise, Lost considerable weight, Walking targets increased, Weight training and related exercises stepped up, Surprisingly to me improved balance, Now walking up and down steps without fear.
Walking as Way of Life.
Thinking of Natasha MH’s sharing of Malaysian walking treat with Australia , Walking with its familiar regular pattern learnt at birth soothes body and mind, Relaxes tension, Puts anxiety aside break in regular grind.
Moments of contemplation, Walking common to all humanity, Just as I walk enjoying familiar scenes Recall Natasha’s story of her walking familiar scenes, In these moments of shared insights I feel connection across seas and time realising our shared walking communion.
Walking is way of sharing life, Bridging cultural language and geography enabling spiritual links, Perhaps we have basis of working together to solve shared problems like climate change?
Walking and Nature.

Walking Reddy Forest yesterday Forrest recovering from Council scrub clearing, Birds returned.
Two kookaburras serenaded me or so I’d like to believe, I think they were exchanging opinions as Kookaburras are oft to do
Forests and trees, Harbours and manicured gardens, Waters and falls, Walking brings souls together back to nature.
Blessed be.
