An Ordinary, Not So Ordinary Day

Journaling Challenge — Day 4

Unusual Sunday in Richmond

There are a few things that happened since I started this journaling journey with the theory of manifestation continued by its practical implementation in a meditative exercise on Friday. Yesterday, I’ve learned about just how much we are capable to manifest and today, I woke up unusually early with tons of writing ideas. I’ve not had this much inspiration over the past month!

And clarity. Clarity about different subjects. Suddenly, multiple topics that got stored in my brain over time as challenges got resolved as the information fitted together and clicked. As if it just took some shift of energy for the click to happen.

And indeed, it was a shift of my energy that made this new wave of inspiration come to me. More specifically, it was me believing that I have the capability to attract new positive things into my life that encouraged this new energy in.

Blessed be, manifestation!

I also got clarity about what to change in my business model to take it ahead (it’s expanding it by connecting my existing expertise with a new one as they actually link perfectly) as well as about what exactly I am looking for in a few areas of life. I just had to sleep on it to be sure.

Anyway, today in London was a super gloomy day. As I walked past the famous Kew bridge boasting above the wide Thames river that’s left me with the view of growing high-tide, the boats (motorboats, rowboats and paddleboats full of enthusiastic canoeists making their best out of the rainy day) and the riverside from both the sides, I thought that if there’s one word to describe the UK as a country, it’d be grey.

Grey as in the middle of the shades, as comme ci, comme ça — neutral, grey as the mood of being stuck indoors on a sunny day, grey as the look of countryside or seaside on the usual (rainy, wet or windy) day, grey as the primary colour of most of our cities, grey as British humour, sarcasm and the polite small-talk. Grey as most of our summer. Simply, grey as the UK.

On another note, I first time attempted to make this amazing quinoa, avocado, sweet potato, tomato and pepper salad. Only that the avos were too soft (the way that I almost cried attempting to slice them) and sweet potatoes too hard to slice. I ended up giving up on the salad and creating what I’d call avocado puree with quinoa, radishes, tomatoes, onions, garlic and bananas.

Yeah, you know, when life gives you lemons… Making only a slight change to the recipe wasn’t enough, so I adapted it altogether.

And to my wonder — it was worth it as the unusual combination felt like made in heaven and now, I’d be creating this one regularly! Served with fish and with sausages for dinner. Forget the amazing salad I wanted to try, there’s always a way to improvise and recreate! Especially today.

To be continued the walk in one of the prettiest and safest areas here in London, something truly unusual happened. As we were walking and talking with a friend of mine, suddenly this weird folk dressed in a light brown long jacket (as out of Matrix but nowhere close to Neo) appeared out of nowhere on the one side of the footpath, crossed the road and started approaching us while shouting at the top of his lungs something I can’t quite recall.

He stopped right in front of us as we tried avoiding him. His aim wasn’t to avoid but to confront us. It took not even five seconds of us standing there in a shock, that he punched my boyfriend hard in the shoulder.

And started walking away fast. As if it was normal.

My first out of shock reaction was running behind him and punching him back with the big umbrella I had with me. But I only managed to look at my friend and check whether he’s okay. Luckily, he was fine, only as shaken as I was. We looked back at the guy who was still visible on the busy street behind us, now approaching more people who started avoiding him. He was mental — behaved aggressively and looked like he didn’t have his shit together. We’ve seen an old couple behind and started running towards them to make sure this stranger won’t threaten them and check how they are. As he has seen us going after him, he speeded up. The couple was shaken too. The crazy guy was also screaming after them. Someone from the small group closeby called the police and when we left the place to make our initially planned journey, there was already a policeman running behind the guy.

So hopefully, he’s been taken care of as that’s not what we were able to see. It impacted the way we both felt for at least the upcoming hour of the walk while we tried cracking jokes and discuss anything but this experience as the energy of it wasn’t great. But the fear of the stranger reappearing out of nowhere was in our subconscious as we kept looking around with every new sound or movement that we heard.

Eventually, we lost the subconscious fear, both calmed down and were able to fully focus on our conversation and enjoy it.

Learning?

Even the safest areas in London have their surprises. Be aware and cautious, but don’t panic. And — if you want to take your mind from something very unpleasant you’ve experienced, try thinking of all the good and entertaining things you’ve seen lately. Even if it’s a movie or a funny video. It helps!

I baked a banana cake earlier on today — the operation success — and shared a few big pieces with my neighbour’s kids. Two girls and my most favourite non-adults in the neighbourhood, one is 3 and the other 7-year-old. On a way home from the walk, the girls have seen me and opened the window to say hi, share their ‘’thanks for the cake’’ and to have a little chat. The little bubbly one that we call Chi-Chi stood herself on the window frame, keen to share all the exciting stories and experiences of her day — only that standing on that window frame was nowhere close to safe.

I was holding her to make sure she doesn’t fall in the bushes where she was slowly tilting while hearing all about her vision in a sweet singing voice. She’s a little angel who always makes me smile. This little interaction made my evening feel light, cheerful and relaxed.

Now, as I am sitting down in the living room finishing this piece, it’s slowly getting dark. I am thinking of having the light dinner and another slice of the banana cake followed by a big cup of fruity tea.

So will go off to enjoy those three. Let’s see what day 5 brings to my consciousness of experiences tomorrow!

I’ll see you there.
