Jokes About You Bring Out Your Best
Embrace them!

The best ideas come as jokes -David Ogilvy
In a room full of my friends with disagreements, the one thing I said will bring out unanimous laughter. Almost always.
That is when I talk about my childhood dream to become a Basketball Player.
It was hard for my friends to believe I was a top player in a game like that in middle school being only 5 ft tall. And none of them had ever played basketball or watched me play?! So, you know the joke was not really on me.
I finally beat their beliefs at the finish line of my first half-marathon race when my daughter was not even 2 years old.
At the doctor's office, I was given a prescription for painkillers and supplements. The Physician’s advice was more painful than my actual knee pain. He suggested I don’t stand or walk for a long time.
I checked for alternatives to strength train my muscles but he was not very positive. He even bet me there was no way I am going to feel better without his medication.
I ditched his prescription and bought a membership at the local gym with a personal trainer. And started training weights.
A year and a half later, My trainer calls me a natural as I am deadlifting 210 pounds[1.5 times my body weight]. Guess what he calls the strongest part of me-“My legs!”.
A few years back, I was talking to an acquaintance about hobbies. I casually told him I love to write. He jokingly asked, “do you have a blog or something I can take a look at?” His question echoed in the back of my mind for a long time.
In the meanwhile, I tried Blogspot but was not motivated enough and dropped it with only a couple of blogs after a year. I have tried many other blogging platforms but in vain.
Finally, now I have something to show him. And I am so glad he asked me that.
Treat me like a joke, and I’ll leave you like it’s funny -Unknown
