Join Us at Tea With Mother Nature
Imagine being a foundation writer for a publication that makes it big!

I can’t make any promises that Tea with Mother Nature will “make it big”, but I am hoping that it will.
The Beginning
When I started writing on Medium, I couldn’t find any publications that were devoted to my niches: nature and gardening. I decided to try starting my own publication.
As I further explored the platform I found some great publications that did cater to my niche, but these publications don’t specifically promote “connection to nature” so I thought it worth persevering. It’s a passion of mine that I follow in every aspect of my life from parenting to the daily grind of teaching.
Creative Risk
If you’re a writer, the chances are good that you’re already taking creative risks in the hope that something will happen as a result. Why not join a publication that is just beginning? They all began somewhere with very few writers. Those writers, presumably, are memorable to the editors, or perhaps they have become editors themselves.
Is Tea with Mother Nature right for you?
Tea with Mother Nature aims to promote connection with nature, sustainable gardening and positive ways to improve the future of our Earth. There’s lots of doom and gloom about the future of our planet, but I firmly believe the best way to create change is to show people the benefits of sustainable and planet-friendly solutions.
Many people “switch off” when it comes to bad news on a planetary scale. What better way to switch them back on again than by showing them what they can do to improve their lives AND the future?
If this resonates with you, please consider joining us!
What does Tea with Mother Nature offer writers?
- An editor with experience. I have spent 18 years proofreading and co-editing writing with students from all walks of life. I have worked with students who speak English as a second language, students who can barely read and students who have a delightful talent with the written word. I am not afraid of offering constructive criticism and I’ve also learned that there is more than one way to write. I do my best to only suggest edits that maintain the author’s voice and personality.
- Promotion. It’s in our interest to make YOUR story visible. The more views and reads you get, the better exposure the publication gets. Tea with Mother Nature has Instagram and Twitter accounts. We post every time we publish something. We also make an effort to promote, when possible, through links in other stories on Medium.
- The opportunity to grow with the publication. The publication is small at this point in time, but that means more time at the top of the feed. At this point, the editor can afford to work with you more intensively if necessary.
- Timely Responses. While we’re small the submissions will be checked as often as work and family duties allow.
- Proofreading! Limited time only. As we are small we are able to offer proofreading for the time being.
You can read the submission guidelines and request to be added as a writer here.
That’s it! Thank you to those who have already signed up as writers and special thanks to Elizabeth Barnesco and Bronwen Scott who have already published in Tea with Mother Nature. You can read their work here:
