January 6 Insurrection Spoke the Truth of Terrorism Within America
How people felt that they had a right to steal the electoral vote and tear up the Capitol
The above image of Jacob Chansley aka QAnon Shaman of Arizona depicted holding a flagpole topped with a spear tip and looking as if he were howling, became one of the leading symbols of the January 6 insurrection.
The above picture communicates the truth of the frightened mindset of those who invaded the Capitol on January 6, 2020, to overthrow the electoral vote at the behest of Donald Trump as we saw him, his family, and staff on a video in a room next to the oval room in theWhite House, partying and cheering these January 6 rioters actions as they destroyed the Capitol.
These insurrectionists climbed the outer walls like animals, broke windows and doors like madmen, and beat up the capitol police staff with no care for humanity injuring many and causing deaths. It was a horrific scene to behold and will forever go down in history as the day America almost lost its democracy.
Some of the rioters indicated or verbally acknowledge that they were doing it for Donald Trump and this is what he charged them to do so on his orders they felt they had a right to do what was necessary to stop Biden’s electoral processes.
Trump has had two impeachment trials and such a long line of business lawsuits, and countless indiscretions lodged against him but with various lawyers’ shrewdness, he has been able to escape any penalties even his tax return has yet to be disclosed on a visible level.
Jacob Chansley aka QAnon Shaman of Arizona got his fifteen minutes of fame with his outlandish garb, and now goes off to jail for 41-months but not long enough. The crime here does not fit the time.
Yes, he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding being one of the thousands of rioters and was among the first group of rioters who enter the capitol. He admitted using a bullhorn to rile up the mob and with a twisted concept for his action prayed for thankfulness that he was able to bust into the capital in this criminal manner.
All the while etched out a note threatening then VP Mike Pence that justice was coming for him for not overturning the electoral vote. The other rioters chanted “Hang Mike Pence” as a noose was mounted outside as the world saw via the news.
Jacob Chansley aka QAnon Shaman of Arizona ignored orders by the police to leave the building while enjoying how he and the other rioters were destroying the building and gloating in the offices of the Democratic leaders with such pride and carefree going through their papers. To convey this mindset of Chansley, he enjoyed more than fifteen minutes of fame as he gloated on videos and social media about his whereabouts and his actions on January 6.
Now that he has been told that his actions were wrong and he will pay the consequences of his actions, now he claims he is now troubled about how he was portrayed in news stories after the riot. Pictures and videos take what they see and don’t lie or discriminate.
The world saw his arrogance in the videos as each spoke for itself and his actions confirmed the rest. Now he proclaims he is not an insurrectionist. Perhaps he needs to look up the definition of an insurrectionist.
Insurrectionist: an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government.
Oh now that he’s sentenced and not harsh enough, he is humbled with much regret and apologetic for his behavior. Who is he kidding?!! He’s a grown man and should have five senses like every human being and is totally responsible for his actions no matter who tells him to do wrong.
Jacob Chansley aka QAnon Shaman of Arizona gets to live his life on, even if incarcerated for a few years, but the dead cannot be resurrected to live life again. This is not an equal trade-off. Humble and this character should not be mentioned in the same sentence.
Can’t believe the Judge noted Chansley’s words in the courtroom as being genuine, what did the judge expect more rebellion as Chansley looked at jail time. What happened to judges not being biased in the courtroom, focusing on the law, solely.
These are Chansley’s words that I assumed touched the judge’s heart.
“I have no excuse. No excuses whatsoever. My behavior is indefensible.”
Yes, the judge did advise Chansley that what he did was wrong and how he made himself the center of the January 6 Insurrection was his choice. Excuse me judge, but Chansley was fully aware of his actions.
Now that Chansley looks at possible jail time, he once called himself the “QAnon Shaman” but has since repudiated the QAnon movement, (the baseless belief that Trump was fighting a cabal of satan-worshiping, child sex trafficking cannibals).
While there were thousands involved in the insurrection, to date there have been 650 people charged in the insurrection January 6 riot that had politicians running to safety for their lives hiding as they certified President Biden’s electoral college victory.
More than 120 defendants have pleaded guilty, mostly to misdemeanor charges from the insurrectionist’s riot on January 6 that carry a MAXIMUM of SIX months in prison.
If stiffer penalties are not sought in all these cases, there is no deterrence for this not happening again and again. America needs to wake up to its reality and institute the same laws against outside terrorism to inside the country terrorism. The January 6 insurrectionists tried to overthrow the government and no matter who told them to do so is punishable by law.
Jacob Chansley aka QAnon Shaman of Arizona has been incarcerated for 10 months and now his attorney, Albert Watkins, claims his client has long-standing mental health problems and is in dire need of mental health treatment.
Attorneys’ responsibility to their clients is to get them off by any means necessary, even when unethical, of late this attitude has been more prevalent with attorneys in the courts, i.e. Rittenhouse case, Arbery case.
In the Arbery case, the defense in her summation talked about Arbery toenails being dirty. Unbelievable, what has dirty toenails got to do with him being shot and murdered by three white men. This is a clear example of how low attorneys will go to get their clients off.
Chansley is a staunched supporter of Trump who was seen dressed in costume at pro-Trump events, protested face mask requirements, and outside a Phoenix election office where votes were being counted. None of this is an excuse for what he did on that fateful day, January 6. If you do the crime, you got to do the time.
According to Chansley’s attorney, Chansley was horrendously smitten by Trump and felt that Trump had called him to the Capitol to stop the electoral process but admitted he felt betrayed after Trump refused to grant him and the thousands of other insurrectionists a pardon. Also, Chansley’s family advised him not to plead guilty because Trump would be reinstated as president and pardon him.
Well, that did not happen, so now the insurrectionists’ hope lies in their hope that John, Robert, or John Jr. Kennedy will return from the grave and become Trump’s running mate in a future election.
Thus far, pro-Trump supporters have had two gatherings where they hoped for the sightings of a Kennedy as they all wore hats, T-shirts, and held flags with their names on them, only to depart with not one Kennedy insight.
In conclusion, these insurrectionists and their leaders need to be held accountable and made to pay for crimes committed to ward off others from doing the same or a repeat offense by the same offenders. No accountability, history is doomed to repeat.
