My first choice would be the Azerbaijan Grand Prix but any of them would suit me just fine.</p><h2 id="ac11">Ride a segway</h2><p id="fcb6">I actually booked segways a couple of times on holidays and chickened out both times because I’m scared I’ll fall off and look stupid, or break a bone.</p><h2 id="6a97">Make and wear the wedding dress I always wanted</h2><p id="01f3">I never got the wedding dress I wanted, and it’s always bothered me. I had a picture of my perfect dress in a drawer for years. When I took it to the dress shop when the time came to buy one, the woman ripped it up and told me I wouldn’t suit it. I’d like to design it, make it, and wear it, just for myself.</p><h2 id="5555">Drive a Ferrari</h2><p id="2e43">I mean, of course, I would. Who wouldn’t want to do this?</p><h2 id="ed0d">Conquer one of those really huge floor-to-ceiling slides</h2><p id="1be7">My son loves these and they always look fun but for some reason, I’m terrified of them. I wish I could have as much fun as him.</p><h2 id="4cf8">Get all the necessary dental work done</h2><p id="4180">Yeah, thirty years of <a href="https://readmedium.com/i-have-a-doppelganger-and-its-as-spooky-as-it-sounds-906d798c3945">ARFID</a> has left my teeth less than perfect. I also suffer from bruxism. I need the work done but don’t have the money or the guts to go and get it done.</p><h2 id="3afb">Take a long-haul flight</h2><p id="266f">Oh, there’s a huge long list of places I want to go. Tahiti, Parramatta where my Dad used to live, Punta del Este in Uruguay, Reunion for the volcanoes… One day.</p><h2 id="0017">Finish writing all the stories in my head</h2><p id="354d">I’ve started making notes for quite a few novels. Maybe around twenty. I never have the time to write them all, although <a href="https://readmedium.com/how-to-start-writing-a-book-by-someone-who-has-done-it-73-times-44e39809c6b">I have written loads</a>. I’ve Never Made A Bucket List — Maybe It’s Time To Do That!

Unless you count the travel bucket list

Over the years, I’ve written blogs about bucket lists on my own websites but I’ve never really made one that was about life generally. My own attempts at bucket lists were always travel-related. That’s fine, but there’s more to life than traveling. That’s something I think we should all have learned during the lockdowns. A hell of a lot of people placed all their happiness on being able to move around the world freely and were lost when they couldn’t do it.

So, what should be added to my bucket list? Let’s see. Here are the first twenty things that came to my head. I wrote this list on 1st January 2024, so let's see how many I can tackle this year.

Learn to belly dance

Shakira does it. She always looks really fit and healthy. I’d like to look like that.

Learn the ukulele

Well, any instrument really. I dabbled with bass. I almost got the hang of the tin whistle. I got a ukulele last year and I think I’d like to learn it properly.

Get a secure job again that doesn’t involve writing

I’m so fed up with writing. I love it, but I hate it too. I always dreamed about being a writer but it’s a thankless job that pays peanuts.

Graduate from university

Well, that should happen in July this year, and the ceremony should be in October. That’s entirely in my hands, whether I graduate or not.

Create a course
