I’ve Got Cats to Feed!

This drabble (100-word story) is a response to Fiction Short November Prompts (prompt 2), written by Nancy Oglesby at Fiction Shorts.

I didn’t want to go to work at the pharmaceutical company, but I had cats to feed.

I was up to seven at that point. They were all strays; they just kind of found my husband and me. And the vet bills were killing us.

So, I steamed cleaned my nicest suit, put on my heels and headed off to my interview.

The interviewer was tough but fair. And when I was asked about how comfortable I was with sales, I thought about my cats, and said, “Very!”

I got the job, and now I harass doctors for a living.

This 4th drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.

Thank you for reading my drabble. I’d love to hear your opinions.
