I’ve Been Thinking About The Meaning Of Life
I Think I Figured It Out
“Strong emotions such as passion and bliss are indications that you’re connected to Spirit, or ‘inspired,’ if you will. When you’re inspired, you activate dormant forces, and the abundance you seek in any form comes streaming into your life.” Wayne Dyer
We talked earlier about finding meaning in the things we do, but what is the meaning of life?
I saved this one for the end because it incorporates everything we have discussed so far. We all have unique talents and abilities, therefore our purpose in life is different, but the purpose of our lives is the same.
To find the meaning of our lives we first have to know who we are as people, what we care about, and what we believe. Then it becomes about figuring out what to do with our lives on a day-to-day basis.
We develop meaning in the things we do because they have some sort of value to us. Figuring out what this is, be it a skill or craft, or an idea is the first part of our mission on earth.
The second part of the mission is finding a way to share our gifts with the world.
That is where the true value comes from, the connection and community we get from sharing our purpose. The more we know ourselves and do what we believe the more authentic of a person we become.
This authenticity allows us to live more freely, unafraid of the opinions of others. Even if other people laugh or criticize, knowing who we are and are living a life based on our principles, makes it much easier to overcome criticism.
This is a never-ending process, learning more about ourselves and finding more and better ways to share ourselves with the world is something we do our whole lives.
There are plenty of people in the world today that don’t do anything I just mentioned. They don’t learn about themselves nor think about their place in the universe, they are content to just get by every day.
I don’t want to judge others and tell them how to live their lives.
However, if we don’t think about our lives and become active members in life, we are only partially living. Part of the meaning of life is the constant learning and growth that all healthy adults go through.
There is no road map and no finish line in the world of self-improvement, the journey itself is the reward if we view it that way. It will require work and time, which is why most people will never do these things.
However, if we are open to learning about ourselves, and life in general, we will learn and experience everything on a different level.
Our idea of success depends on us and is completely subjective. We can do things that we view as good or helpful to others, and those people might not agree or like what we did.
This is where knowing ourselves and who we are is even more important.
We will have many ups and downs through life, by having a firm foundation in who we are as people, and a clear goal for ourselves to work towards, we become stronger and more resilient.
I can’t give you an easy solution or a tip or trick to a happy life, it will take work. But what I can tell you from personal experience, is when we start to contemplate life and figure out our place in it, we become more confident.
By sharing who we are, and creating connections with others, we become happier.
Our lives begin to expand and we enter new levels of happiness and fulfillment, at which point we can do more for ourselves and others.
