POETRY
It’s Time To Vote
Make it count, do it today!
It’s time to vote now
It’s your turn
Vote now, make it count for your country
Why I Wrote This Poem
In seventeen syllables, which some people might call the haiku style, I thought that I would share this poem suggesting that my fellow citizens of the United States take advantage of early voting offered in most states.
Here in the state where I live, we have to request a ballot for our election, and it is then mailed to us.
We can then either send the ballot back in, take it to an election drop off, or our closest or preferred polling location before election day since many will be open a week or more early for early voting.
Of course, you can still vote on election day if you prefer.
There are multiple options available to vote this year, and it pretty much takes away any reason someone may want to give as an excuse for not voting.
Voting is a privilege, duty, and a right, and to not vote is suggesting that your rights don’t matter. Your voice doesn’t matter. Our form of government doesn’t matter.
No one should want to believe that or even suggest that is the case that your voice doesn’t matter in our democracy here in the United States of America.
All citizen’s voices matter. Vote as early as you can if that is best for you. Either way, get out and vote.
