Has liberty and justice eluded us, or is it still there just for us to find it?

Liberty is what we strove for

It eludes us

Is it forever no more?

I was compelled to write this short poem after reading so many discouraging posts on social media earlier today.

The darkness of our words, our thoughts seem to be getting worse.

I worry not only for our country but also for our “souls”. I hope we can see the sunshine again soon!
