It’s Hard to Narrow This Thing Down to Just One
Where I have failed, maybe you will succeed
My mind and body are swimming with a TON of different thoughts and feelings.
I’ve been awake since 7:30am after going to sleep at 3am (night owl) and have be ON.THE.GO all damn day (it just turned midnight).
My wonderful partner is cooking dinner while I take some time to write while in this delirious, somewhat catatonic state.

I guess I should say who inspired me before getting to the what.
Her name is Misty Rae and, yet again, she has given me some wonder full food for thought that I have been chewing for the past couple of days.
Here are the highlights from a story she published a few days ago that, at the end, asked me- and anyone who cared to answer- what “super-human-abilities” I have or which I’d want if given the chance.
First, I am incredibly good at reading people.
Second, but along the same lines, I am a human bullshit detector. If someone’s lying to me, I know. Even when others don’t, I do.
Those are the superpowers I have. Now on to the ones I’d want if given the opportunity. First, I think I’d like to be able to fly.
Other than that, I think being able to time travel would be fun. It would be awesome to go back and explore ancient times or to jump ahead and explore the future.
Even though I am ridiculously exhausted, I am smiling right now while typing this because it’s fun and fairly easy for me since I have given this topic MUCH consideration throughout my life.
I have loved characters like: Bionic Woman, Batman, Jeannie (from I Dream of Jeannie), Samantha (from Bewitched) and Wonder Woman for as long as I can remember.
In fact, I dressed up as Jeannie and Wonder Woman for Halloween at least once during my childhood.
I wanted to have SOME kind of super powers so bad that I used to fall asleep thinking about what it’d be like to: read people’s minds, move things with my mind (telekinesis- thank Stephen King for that one due to the movie Firestarter), fly, have super human strength and speed, turn invisible, etc.
This was all before X-Men, The Matrix or Marvel.
So, of course, when all of those movies came along, I was (and still am) a big fan.
Bruce Lee was, and still is, one of my greatest heroes.
He never ceases to amaze me…even in his death.
He was a phenomenal and singular martial artist, as well as an excellent actor, but it was his character that shone through in all he created that has left such an indelible impression on me.
One of my friends has often told me that finding amazing deals on flights with good travel time and connections is my superpower.
As true as that is, I think that my top super-human-ability is connecting with people.
Being human and sharing in all of this gloriously messy “human-ness” with other humans…which is kind of funny for an introvert like me.
If I was a real life super hero, I’d totally be the undercover lover of humanity type like many of those I watch as well.
However, my favorite super heroes are everyday people, like the ones I read and hear about all the time, who do simple, yet extraordinary things- sometimes daily, sometimes only time to time.
I’m here for it all.
