Is Your Morning Routine Bringing You Hope?

A few shifts might do the trick

“What goes best with a cup of coffee? Another cup.”

– Henry Rollins

Whether it’s coffee, tea, soda, or water, the choice is irrelevant. However, do you have a set number of cups you drink before you get started for the day?

I have started to limit myself to only two cups of coffee to eliminate procrastination and the jitters.

Have you ever eaten a snack to avoid working? It goes the same for my morning coffee. It’s called procrastination eating, and I’m adding drinking. Although it’s not yet in the regular dictionary, some experts say procrastineating is an actual phenomenon.

It’s not just about the coffee; it’s about the whole experience. My morning routine is a mini spa. I only allow the things I love into my space.

Coffee, please

What goes best with a cup of coffee? For me, it’s a great dose of positivity!

I enjoy lighting a candle with a scent of my choice. Next, I make my coffee just the way I like it while using my favorite mugs and savoring every sip.

I block out any negativity as long as possible before I jump into the unknown.

“The new dawn blooms as we free it. For there is always light if only we’re brave enough to see it, if only we’re brave enough to be it.”

– National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman

Staying unplugged

For me, I try to stay unplugged from any devices until I have soaked up enough positive energy. I slowly invite a little music, my journal, guided meditation, and several reading materials. I will then sit until my energy is on a high.

Setting limits

I try to limit my coffee; otherwise, I could probably sit in this space all day sipping its warm luring compounds.

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

– Albert Einstein

When my energy is high, I move into my workspace; I have several. I have learned that our moods need a place of comfort and a creative outlet. So, depending on my mood for the day, I will then choose my next space.

It doesn’t mean I can’t move. Having a flexible space to work is a must for me.

Takeaways

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

—Desmond Tutu

I’m not saying we can avoid the news, others, or even negativity entirely, but fueling up on as much positive energy is a must. Taking small breaks to refuel during the day is a game-changer.

How do you invite hope into your days?
