Thee Quest- Health Series
Is The Food You Eat Important?
Are Water and Food indispensable parts of who you are?

Water is the fluid that carries all the vitamins and minerals through your body, that is why my health series started with water. It carries so much that we cannot underestimate its importance.
In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the choices I make as to what I eat, how I do so, and the ramifications of those choices are all an extremely important part of my ability to stay alive.
We all have a story. I need to tell you why my eating story has become part of who I am. Much of it, is also your story, because of how you feel, what you expect in life, and how you can take more time for yourself than you can imagine.
Water carries all the nutrition to your blood, along with oxygen from your lungs, to help every cell in your body maintain itself in good condition, more than that, in great condition.
How it all began
Early in my childhood, I was always sick and tired. I had asthma, allergies and was constantly on meds. From one med to another, feeling frustrated all the time. Often bedridden.
I had been told by doctors that I would not be able to play contact sports.I loved sports; hockey , football, baseball, geeze, any sport! I wanted to play them all. You can imagine my frustration being told that I couldn’t.
Let me tell you when you feel like this all the time, all you want to do is get rid of the pain. I felt angry all the time. I was no more than 11 or 12 and swore to myself that there was no way, I would be on meds all my life. I kept telling myself that I needed to fight this condition, and darn it did I ever.
Never would I have imagined that the food I ate was hurting me more than anything else. I continued to play sports, it would always hurt, and I knew that from now on, pain would always be a constant in my life. I would always be searching for solutions to my health problems.
Unfortunately, when we are young, we do not aware of the harm we are doing to our bodies. So many young people are on meds today, more than we could ever imagine suffering from all kinds of diagnosed diseases, not knowing that they all could be controlled by the foods we eat.
I used to eat like a pig, I was always hungry, never had enough. I obviously spent much more positive energy than negative, due to the exercising I was doing. My lungs hurt more and more. The more I ate the more I hurt.
Wasn’t the food I ate supposed to give me energy? When I was 15 I weighed only 145 pounds and no matter how much I ate, I just couldn’t gain weight. More food did not help. I ate so much it hurt!
I have waited nearly 40 years to share my story, and my wife feels that I am a health fanatic, that I must have a weight on my shoulders.
If only I would have researched and had the internet back then. I would have asked so many questions.
Our bodies are alive, just like every living particle, we are no different. We are not machines!

How important is the food that you put in your mouth?
Food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy.
The food we eat serve three vary basic needs:
- Food helps keep us alive.
- Food serves us to keep us healthy.
- Food was also created for us to
have fun.
How we enjoy each one of these parts is what I have strived to identify and humanize as much as possible.
For thousands of years, we have applied only two of these. We have always needed to hunt, fish, and farm to stay alive. Our forefathers worked hard until they died, trying to keep us alive.
Our mothers, grandmothers, and elders did all they could to find solutions to prevent us from being sick, all the time.
Most of our lives have been pretty dull, for the working class, and the Church has always continued to pound the messages that we need to work until our bodies hurt, then die, go to heaven or hell.
Simplistic, right? I just want to tell you how I have seen and followed most of history, pretty dull so far?
But then, the sixties came along, and eating for fun became a craze.
The War On Weight Began by Victor Ong
Dr. Ong explained that during the sixties people began to enjoy life more. Socializing eating pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets and all the rest became part of our way of life. It became the New Paradigm for lifelong Ideal Weight.
I studied his book and realized that I could never separate “good food from fast food”. It has been, and will always continue to be a new part of our basic needs of life.
Before I continue telling you my story, I needed to explain to you that taking away all of the great food we eat, has nothing to do with my article.
I derived a need and purpose to find a way that we could eat, incorporating all of the elements of life, and still survive, no matter what experts say.
I became my own expert and have spent the last 25 years putting my theory to work. It does work!
The mystery article continues…
We wanted to make sure that the following was part of our everyday lives:
All the food we eat needs to taste great. Not just good, great!
All the food we eat needs to help us stay healthy even if it just for our mental health, get it?
All the food we eat must be easy to prepare, cost-efficient, accessible, and affordable.
All the foods we eat must have all the nutritional values that our bodies require to keep us healthy and happy!
P.S. Note: If you include restaurants as part of your daily routine, it is ok, but we cannot control costs, for all the fun you are having!
What Our Bodies Made Of?
Vitamins and minerals are what we are made of. Feeding our bodies and maintaining all the vital nutrients remains our goal.
I had never heard anyone say, “What happens if I eat all the nutritional values my body needs every day”? I have the answer, you will never be hungry!
I found a way to do just that and it works. Your body takes what it requires from your food and eliminates the rest. Basic biology. It uses all these nutrients.
Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy.
Energy to help maintain your strength to move through your day without being tired
- Growth
- Digestion (elimination)
- Keeping warm (body temperature)
- Repair the broken parts
- Maintain a very healthy immune system
- All of these nutrients supply fats, good sugars, and all the minerals to sustain life. Meaning that, every time somethings get into your body, it will absorb, digest, eliminate waste, repair the flat tire, maintain your body in excellent condition until it wears out and you go back to the spirit world to refuel, depending on your beliefs of course.
The combination of foods and liquids you eat will be your own , your secret recipes, to help you from birth and for the rest of your life. You are your own personal trainer, and fixer-upper that willt keep you as healthy as the food you put in your body.
The following is the list of what I eat every day. It will help show you:

The Importance Of The Food You Eat
A) First thing I drink in the morning, shortly after I wake up is My Apple cider vinegar, honey, and water recipe. 16 ounces of pure great-tasting nutrition that gets me going. Plus 3 or 4 Raw whole, unsalted Brazil nuts instead of meds for my thyroid condition.
B) Sometime in the morning, I blend a 16-ounce glass of pure fruit smoothie heaven, never eating the same one twice, except if you love it too much, but not to make it addictive!
C) Sometime in the afternoon, I have a glorious all vegetable and apple green juice to give me the strength and energy to get through my day.
D) For supper, fun time, nighttime I eat whatever I damn well please, assuming that I am still hungry that is.
A, B, C Are every day, 365 days a year. D only when I am hungry, the weekend at friends, Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving… do you get it?
See you in the next article…it does not end here.
If you have not read the first article in this series, please do. Tell your friends!
When I started Thee Quest I wanted to tell my story, hear yours and create a common goal, to live life to the fullest.
Eating and drinking are two of the most important functions we need to learn in order to reach our Quest. I will write an article every once in a while to explain to you how I started changing my life many years ago by taking control of it.
It has become very important to me, as much as my being Trans, upon my discovery of Gender Dysphoria. If I were not in great health I would not be able to meet and defeat this condition.
At 68, I need to talk about eating and Dysphoria within my Body Mind, and Spirit to survive.
I also care very much about the LGBTQ community, all That Black Lives Matter and Women’s rights represent. I know it’s lots but are we not all in this life together. If we eat right we will all benefit.
Thank you all for sharing a vision. Share it with me on Thee Quest and I love you all!
Louise :)
