Is Silence a Consent?

My thoughts on this question

Have you ever sat in a meeting, and someone shared their thoughts on a particular subject? You reflected and thought that you disagreed. However, you kept quiet and did not say a word.

The person who spoke thought you had agreed, but you didn’t. Your silence is just a form of respectful gesture in a meeting. Does silence imply some consent?

The answer to this question varies according to the context of the environment and setting. Silence does not consent if the speaker speaks to a large group.

There needs to be voting in to show if everyone has agreed. But if the person speaks to me alone, then silence is consent.

Do you agree?
