Prompt: Favorite Season

Is Nature Calling You to Grow?

The season of Spring offers that possibility

All the seasons have their purpose in life for me.

If I am to choose my favorite, it would be spring.

Spring brings us out of the cold and darkness of winter, offering hope once again as nature shares the signs of new life.

Being Me: The seasons of life was where I broke my writing career into their four seasons.

Written for A Taste for Life in celebration of International Being You Day I asked a question.

“Have you ever thought about your life not in years and labels, but rather as four seasons?”

In that article I shared:

“In my spring,

my birth held the promise of every possibility.”

New life indeed holds that promise.

Each spring brings out that inner child in me. It’s a time when I recapture hope.

  • Planting vegetables, getting back to the soil, nurturing them to growth
  • Making plans during Lent to reflect spiritually in preparation for Easter, a time of spiritual rebirth
  • Organizing my files in preparation to file my tax return, financially reviewing my past year
  • Making writing plans, reviewing my goals, and scheduling for the rest of the year

Many see New Year’s as the time of resolution.

For me when it’s January I’m focused more on taking down Christmas decorations, and getting both my house and my writing routine back in shape after a holiday respite.

Spring offers me the perfect time to rejuvenate all aspects of my life and to begin anew.

Ellen Baker writes comparing winter and summer rain, but her article made me also think of the feel of spring rain as it nourishes the vegetation back to life.

“Rain, however, brings different responses depending on the season.”

Caroline de Braganza writes how the seasons of our hearts beat to the rhythm of rain.

“Because I love music almost as much as I adore writing, I’m sharing songs about the rain in my story.

Many artists have written about this life-giving element of nature which brings joy to the mountains, sparkles in rivers and streams, and quenches the thirst of flora and fauna.”
