The Mission
The goal of this publication is to inspire, educate, and share ideas about InfoSec. Dark Roast Security is a platform designed to bring people together that are passionate about sharing their knowledge or want to learn something new about Cybersecurity.
Through this publication, I hope to share experiences of Cybersecurity professionals across the industry, spread knowledge, and publish thought-provoking content for our readers.
Does Your Writing Fit?
Being that Dark Roast Security’s mission is to educate and share ideas about InfoSec, the scope is simple: Cybersecurity topics.
Cybersecurity is a very broad industry and this publication is dedicated to all of that content. We want this to be a platform for people of all professional backgrounds, regardless of if our readers have tech backgrounds or not.
Cybersecurity is something we all need to have fundamental understanding of in the digital age, which why we publish both beginner, informational content, and more advanced, technical articles.
Are you a web app developer? Do you have something to say about secure web app design? We’d love to publish it!
Are you a pen tester that enjoys writing about various exploits you’ve performed? Write about it and submit it to us!
Do you write about high-level InfoSec topics, like tips for creating strong passwords, securing your home network, or avoiding phishing scams? We want that content too!
And lastly, one of my personal favorites, do you write about your experiences in the industry? Share those with us! Sharing stories and advice on working in the industry, or how to get started with Cybersecurity are hot topics. We’d like to be a place that individuals can also come to to read about where to start if they’re looking to make a career in Security.

Cybersecurity can be an intimidating topic for individuals that don’t have much experience with computers or the Internet. That’s okay! We’re here to help educate you.
