Introducing The Orange Journal New Editors!
It’s time to publish your work faster. Let’s rock, folks!

Hi TOJ Writers! I love you. 🥰 You are making my dreams come true. So many things have changed in my life since I quit my full-time job in September. Every day feels like a dream. (A dream where I work 10+ hours per day to reach my goals.) But, still, a dream to me.
As you likely know, TOJ hit its first 2000 followers the other day, and it seems we are growing mightily fast! (Facts + history about oranges below for your reading pleasure.) 🍊
I have been trying to maintain the pub through quick publishing, helpful editorial notes, and recruiting new writers. It’s been busy, but the good kind of busy.😃
I’m ready to accept help with “my baby” to give the pub the chance it deserves to flourish. I know I can’t do it alone. Especially because I am creating my very first online Medium Course! YAY! It’s incredibly comprehensive and thorough with videos to accompany every lesson. While it’s something I’m ready to do, I know I can’t do everything with this new project I have taken on.
A project I hope you will choose to invest in…❤️ (You can expect delivery of completion in 6 months or less.)
Without further ado….The Orange Journal welcomes its brand new additional editors! The time is now.

Introductions of New Editors at The Orange Journal
About Alessia May 🍊

Alessia is an Italian creative with a BA in photography and a passion for self-improvement. She spent the last five years in the hectic city of London, working as a film and theatre photographer.
The pandemic forced her back to her homeland and allowed her to slow down and reconnect to that piece of herself she’d lost touch with. This introspection reignited the fire within, and she found herself writing again.
She loves to explore new ideas and write thought-provoking articles that offer an opportunity to question things in the hopes that everyone can connect with the part of themselves that needs to be nurtured.
About The Sober Vegan Yogi 🍊

Michele is a California native, born and raised. She is married with two teenage daughters, who are the light of her life. She found her love for writing at a young age, and always did well in her language arts classes. In math, not so much...
Her fire for writing died during her younger years but was reignited after she gained a year of sobriety. She found that expressing herself, her trauma, and her mistakes through her writing was the therapy that she always sought.
It’s her passion to help people that are struggling. She loves connecting with all of the writers on this platform. Michelle is passionate about health, fitness, travel, and animals.
About Nicole Dake 🍊

Nicole Dake is a blogger, author and mom of three, living in Frankfurt, Germany. Nicole graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder with a BA in Psychology in 2008.
Nicole writes about health and wellness for moms and kids, with a focus on whole-person wellness.
In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, yoga and playing Magic the Gathering.
About Susie Pinon 🍊
Remember, I’ll still be an editor at The Orange Journal. So remember to follow those formatting guidelines. 😉 Want to get to know me better? Check out my recent “About Me” here.
What Does This Mean for Writers?
- You can expect a shorter turnaround time since the four of us will be reviewing your submissions on a rolling basis. We know you don’t want to wait. We get it, trust me!
- Stories will still be published on an hourly basis. Stay tuned for the upcoming publishing schedule. We are still working this out as our editors live in Europe and the states.
All stories will still be separated by one hour. This is so you get the most read time possible from the TOJ audience. Please remember that other pubs aren’t so kind and will easily publish 25 articles in an hour.
TOJ cares about the success of the writers. All the more reason to publish with us instead! 🤪
- All stories are scheduled in advance. The editor will tell you the day and time you can expect your piece to be published.
- The same formatting rules apply. New editors will provide you with one critique per submission at most. All edits must be made within one round, or the piece will not be accepted. Read the guidelines, and you will be all set.
- Those who follow guidelines on the first try will get priority of publishing. All pieces are reviewed in time order of submission. But if formatting is wrong, we will skip over that submission so we can publish other folks’ faster.
Friend Link for TOJ Guidelines
If you require a friend link to the formatting guidelines because you don’t have a membership, you can find it here and below. Resources you need to succeed will always be made accessible to you at The Orange Journal.
Send in Your Best Work
I know that the only way for The Orange Journal is up! And I will continue to keep my promise to readers of TOJ to maintain quality control and integrity with every story that’s published with us.
You will never find clickbait, follower stories, or low-effort shortform at TOJ. It ain’t the place. Period.
Let’s grow together! And be sure to check out Alessia, Michele, and Nicole’s Medium profiles and their socials. They are obviously incredibly cool people you want in your corner.😎
