Introducing Myself
Let’s unpack what the bio says.

I joined Medium in early 2016. Although I wrote a few articles that year, I’ve been rather inactive since. This could be attributed to several reasons: moving to a new country, living by myself, studies, work etc; but I suppose that the primary reason for my absence from this website has been laziness.
I’ve had the same bio ever since I started: ‘reader, writer, and everything in between’. In my opinion, the ability to write does not come from a simple want of expressing yourself; rather, it arises from a need to introspect. Once the introspection process begins, several ideas bubble around in your head like the frothing of a magical potion. Writing, I believe, is the final serving of this mystic brew.
In essence, there’s a journey that you embark upon when you write. My articles on Illumination are glimpses of that journey, and I hope that you can find the beauty that I try to narrate in them.
I grew up in New Delhi, India, and moved to Dublin, Ireland a couple of years ago. Most of my writing is based on the personal experiences I’ve had. It revolves around my thoughts about life, loneliness, childhood insouciance and coming-of-age. I’m a guitarist and a singer (you can watch the videos here), a passionate Liverpool fan, and an AI aficionado.
My style of writing is heavily influenced by the works of Haruki Murakami and Anton Chekhov. George Orwell, Roald Dahl and Ernest Hemingway are some of the other names in a list of authors that inspire me. And now that I’m active here again, I’m fairly certain that list will be expanded with names from this publication.
Below are a couple of the articles that I’ve written for Illumination. Your feedback, be it critical or effusive, is the best way for me to improve; so I’d really appreciate it if you could take the time out to read these!
