A Matter of Holding On

Why you must not lose hope

Source: The Guardian

No matter what words I choose, I cannot quite describe the current agonising state of the world.

What I can do, is encourage you to make it through these torrid times.

Remember the first time you hugged someone you love? Listening to the same song on repeat when you felt lost? The unbridled joy of playing your favourite sport as a kid? Watching the night sky, lying on a solitary patch of grass?

Nothing can take away the experiences you’ve had. And when this calamity is over, you’ll have a chance to feel all those emotions once again — another shot at feeling human.

Until then…hold on to the memories. Try to help others: the ones fighting the war against racism, the ones who have lost their friends/family, the ones who no longer have a reliable source of livelihood.

Every little contribution, in any form possible, brings you a step closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.
