Introducing Getting Ready for the New Day

I am only a new writer to the ILLUMINATION family, and yet it already feels like a family. It is incredibly nurturing and supportive, and for that we have the vision of Dr Mehmetyildiz to thank. Who else would have thought of giving authors a place to showcase their own publications?

What’s the purpose of Getting Ready for the New Day?

Getting Ready for the New Day is for all those people who after a horrible day, week, month, or year think to themselves, “Tomorrow is a new day.” No matter how bad it is now, there is some action they can take to make tomorrow better. It’s for all the people who want to steer the ships of their own lives, and refuse to accept other people’s definitions and limitations for themselves.

There are four main categories covered in the publication:

  1. Productivity. If you want to make tomorrow better, you need to be able to do more than you’re doing now. Or do what you’re doing now more easily. Productivity articles are aimed at helping you to do this.
  2. Self Improvement. This category covers all of the things that improve your inner landscape and outer interactions with the world, but are not specifically about productivity.
  3. Relationships. Your resilience is improved when you have a solid network of strong interpersonal relationships to draw upon. This category offers articles to help you improve all different types of relationships.
  4. Life Lessons. This is the catch-all category for important ideas to improve your life in some way, that don’t fit into one of the other categories.

All of the articles are designed to be actionable, to give you real advice and suggestions that you can put into place immediately.

Who is the target audience?

In general, anyone who wants their tomorrow to be better than today will find the publication has something to offer. In specific, when I am writing the articles, I am thinking of someone who is going through a major life shift of some sort, and needs support and encouragement.

Who can write for Getting Ready for the New Day?

This has been a passion project for me. In one of my meditations, I was told that I was going to become a teacher. I spent a number of days thinking through what that meant, and how it was going to be accomplished.

As a result, Getting Ready for the New Day has a specific point of view. The idea is that we are approaching a New Day when the consciousness level of the planet will rise significantly. We will be interacting with each other in a new way, with a new attitude. Most of us will need help making that transition smoothly.

I write about my efforts to embody that rise in consciousness, and what I’ve learned along the way to help others with the same struggles.

If you are also trying to lift yourself out of the current paradigm, into a more holistic state of being, your voice may resonate with the publication.

How to submit

At the moment, Getting Ready for the New Day is a solo effort. If the mission and vision speak to you, leave your name and profile as a comment to this article. I’ll check out some of your other work, and if it feels congruent, add you as a writer. (If there’s a particular story you’d like me to look at, be sure to mention it.)

5 sample stories

These are some of the most popular articles in the publication, from the four different sections. They should give you a good idea of what it covers.

  1. How to Challenge Yourself to Learn Your Capability for Excellence

This is a self-improvement article, about pushing yourself to achieve more with self-imposed challenges. It offers 25 sample challenges, but moreover, it analyzes challenges into five basic categories. That helps you to understand which type of challenge is best for how you want to grow. And makes it easier for you to create your own challenge.

2. 4 Goal Setting Hacks to Transform Big Goals into Easy Tasks

This is a productivity article, about four ways to work with what your brain is already doing to get better about goal setting. Not only does it explain what the four hacks are, it explains why they work. (You may notice a theme here…I prefer articles that tell people why something works. It’s more empowering.)

3. How I Triumphed Against Victim Mentality Even Though I Was Terrified

This is a life lessons article, describing the horror of having my kitchen overrun with bugs. But it also talks about how my first reaction, victim mentality, was not helpful, and would be ultimately disempowering. It describes what I did instead, and offers concrete suggestions for the reader finding themselves in a similar situation.

4. I Improved One Thing, and Went From Dateless to Engaged in Under a Year

Okay, the title is a little over the top, but it’s true. It’s about how changing my communication style helped me to connect to my future husband in an authentic and meaningful way. It also gives examples of how that communication looks. Obviously, it was in the relationships category.

5. How to Become a World Champion in Any Field

This article was cross-posted in both life lessons and self improvement. It’s a special type of article that doesn’t rely on my experience. Instead, it’s a book review, summarizing the key points of something I’ve read. Ideally, it will give people enough of an overview to become excited about reading the book themselves. (If you’re not excited about the book, why review it?)
