Interesting Thoughts from Other Writers That Made Me Go Hmmm 🤔 or LOL 😂

My Weekly WTA: What The Ah-ha Moments — Issue 13

Image created by Author using Dall-E 3

I wanted to do shoutouts to authors, and I was going to do it in a newsletter, but everyone is doing one of those, it seems. I recently deleted most of the ones I subscribed to and didn’t even read the ones I think are stellar.

I decided that starting my own was not the best investment of my time. However, I still wanted to put together a piece highlighting things I learned or authors that made me laugh hysterically -in a good way.

Well, my Medium peeps, I am late in the game getting this out. I wish I could say I had a good reason, but I don’t, so I won’t pretend I do. We are still in a deep freeze over here. However, we are at least in the positive 20s rather than the negative 20s, so that’s a massive improvement.

Without further ado, let’s get into the recommendations, shall we?

This leads to my first read that will make you go🤔 and 🤔

The first article on my list by Tracy Collins explores the concept of wealth, generations, and holding onto your money or spending it while you are alive to experience it.

She details the boomer generation’s impact when it comes to holding onto their money.

It’s an interesting read and pertinent to all generations that will definitely make you go 🤔.

Now this next one will have you going 🤔and 😂

It’s a poem by Carlo Zeno about how organizations value groupthink and loyalty more than free thinking.

My work experience has been primarily in higher education, but let me assure you this still applies.

This one will have you doing a little of this 🤔 and that 😂

My next author made the cut two weeks in a row. This one by Marcia Abboud is another love story with an unexpected ending that will have you rolling 😂

As I said last week, who doesn’t like a good love story with some plot twists?

This next piece will have you doing some of this 🤔

This one by Denis Gorbunov provides some interesting history of a con man who tried to sell the Eiffel Tower.

It’s a fascinating tale with one major takeaway — don’t mess around on your woman because you might find yourself in jail.

You will need to read the rest to find out what happens, but as the saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

This last article will have you doing a lot of this 🤔

The final pick is about that all elusive Medium Boost. However, this one by Lance Cummings PhD gives some thoughtful reflection on his experience as a nominator.

He also offered some tips beyond writing better and creating more appropriate headlines, which I greatly appreciated.

I realized mine this week were in the single digits, as in only 1 😂

But it’s about my process of dealing with structured writing versus my creative surges that come and go.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to read it, take a look and let me know what you think.

Happy Reading 📃

In the meantime, I will keep discovering, keep laughing, and keep the ‘ah-ha’ moments coming. So, Stay tuned for more exciting thoughts next time that will make you go Hmmm 🤔 or LOL 😂.
