Intention is the Source of Creation
What is your intention?

The Tarot card called the Chariot features a handsome young man standing in a chariot, with a black sphinx and white sphinx at the front of the vehicle, ready to work.
At first glance it looks like a race is about to begin. There’s the chariot, two powerful creatures to pull it and a competent person to drive it. But the driver isn’t going anywhere. He’s missing vital equipment.
What essential piece of equipment does he lack? He has no reins.
Reins represent Intention. Without Intention you go nowhere.
The driver is physically mature and healthy. He has top-of-the-range equipment — a fancy crown, impeccable armour and a neat chariot with two large golden wheels itching to spin. The mythical creatures at his service symbolise strength and wisdom. But without reins (Intention), strength and wisdom will continue to sit on their haunches with their tails twitching, and the chariot will remain where it is.
The young man may have a general idea that he’d like to go for a spin, otherwise he wouldn’t be in the chariot. However, by the end of the day he’ll still be standing in the same place because he has no real intention to act on.
Intentions are like reins: they connect you to a source of universal power that helps you move forward.
Intention is the first connection between what is and what will be.
As Deepak Chopra says:
Everything that happens in the universe starts with an intention.
Having intentions gives clarity. Intentions provides focus. They enable you to make plans; plot your course; mark the bridges, valleys, crossroads and quagmires you may encounter. Intentions help you organise your thoughts, negotiate the unexpected and meet deadlines.
Mindfulness and the Chariot
When the Chariot appears in a spread, ask yourself a question:
What is my intention?
Intention gives you a direction for your energy.
Intention starts wheels turning.
Intention helps you begin to connect the dots.
Insight
Without intention you go nowhere.
