Abstract

The article titled "Inside the Life Of Lipstick" delves into the imaginative life of a lipstick, personifying it with feelings and thoughts. The lipstick expresses a sense of claustrophobia and anxiety when used, likening the experience to being in an MRI machine. Despite this, it takes pride in its role as a beauty enhancer, particularly enjoying the transformation it brings to women's looks with its shimmering pink hue. The narrative touches on a humorous anecdote of a mother and daughter who swapped lipsticks, highlighting the importance of choosing the right shade to complement one's features. The lipstick acknowledges the variety of lipsticks available, each with unique qualities, and muses on the different types, from glossy to matte. It concludes with the lipstick comparing its impact on users to the way an artist's work affects viewers, suggesting that wearing lipstick can be as transformative as wearing a fur coat.

Witchy wonders … what do you think it’s like to be a tube of lipstick?

I don’t think anyone realizes just how claustrophobic it is in these lipstick tubes. It makes me pout.

The clear covers are less anxiety-provoking. I gasp for air every time the cover is removed. I feel like I am in a perpetual MRI without the jack hammering noise. What a life!

Don’t forget how everyone twirls me around to get access to me. To say it’s dizzying is an understatement. My life can feel like a rollercoaster, and it’s not always amusing.

Naturally, I am drawn to mouths with luscious lips. I get excited when a woman looks in the mirror and takes me out of her makeup bag or handbag. I don’t want these women to look like a bag.

I love the way my shimmering pink hue enhances her look. It is like the icing on the cake, or should I say the frosting on the lips?

A smile appears on her face, and I know my job is complete. It is my honor to be the finishing touch on these women’s faces.

One of my colorful buds told me there was a mother and daughter who wore very different lipsticks. My friend is red and the mother wore this lipstick. Her daughter wore lipstick more akin to me.

One day they traded lipsticks. The mother, with her beautiful olive skin and shiny black hair, blended into the woodwork when she wore the light pink lipstick. She didn’t even feel a sliver of the raving beauty she was. She felt drab.

Her daughter, who was fairer, said wearing the red lipstick made her look like a hooker. Needless to say, they never switched lipsticks again.

Sometimes I feel inferior to the lipsticks that stay on continuously even while the woman plants a smooch on her man.

However, just like most things and people, all lipsticks are created differently and all possess our own special qualities.

Glossy lipsticks are to dye for, but I think I am second best. Shimmering lipstick makes quite the statement and can be scintillating.

Women who make out with lipstick know enough not to leave out the crème de la crème. Their mantra is, “Don’t make out without makeup, especially lipstick.”

There is such a palette of shades to color your world.

What feels better than to coat your lips with a pretty color to brighten up your face? It may not be a fur coat, but it makes you look just as rich.

Matte lipstick is a unique family altogether. To me, it is like having cousins with no personality or who are dull. It’s just nothing special.

Sometimes I blush when I see a woman wearing me. I can’t believe what an effect I have on people who paint their puckers with me.

I wonder if this is how Monet felt.
