Trump’s Insanity and Brainwashing Techniques— Really Subtle and Unexpected
The 1950’s U.S. stereotype was: “Brainwashing occurs in Soviet concentration camps!”

Never thought I’d see it in the U.S. and especially in a President. But, with modern technology, brainwashing can happen in any area of endeavor.
First, definitions for this article:
Brainwashed definition # 2: persuasion by propaganda or salesmanship (www.merriam-webster.com)
Insanity. n. mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality… (www.psychologytoday.com)
I had long suspected the fantasy trait, but the election made it very clear. After more than 60 legal challenges and recounts of recounts, the President was still telling everybody that he had won! It appeared to me that he actually believed it.
However, I had not recognized the extent of the brainwashing until the Electoral College vote count by Congress and the ensuing riot.
How the brainwashing happened
For the first time in history, the President had direct access to individuals throughout the country with Twitter. He could say anything he wanted, without filters and fact-checking by news organizations or Twitter itself.
He told supporters to ignore the “fake news” outlets. That’s a major brainwashing tactic — convince people to ignore contradictory news stories since they were fake.
One of my Facebook friends told me I shouldn’t watch the news at all. I had posted that one should watch multiple news channels, like CNN and Fox, and read source documents if available, like the text of bills in Congress.
Brainwashing can happen with anything and from any source. I have no idea how Congress can prevent widespread brainwashing because of free-speech, but it needs to be investigated. National security requires it, at least.
The election
Nothing done by humans will ever be perfect. That goes from building rocket ships to managing voting in an election.
Errors always occur The goal is to minimize those errors
Rocket ships blow up and a few errors were found during the 2020 presidential election. Maybe the person who lost a House seat by 6 votes has a complaint, but 5 states and tens-of-thousands votes in each is too large to be reversed by typical errors.
Trump told his brainwashed fanatics that the election was stolen by a vast nation-wide conspiracy and he won by a landslide.
- First, just from the logistics side, a plot that size would be hard to conceal and nearly impossible to implement.
- Second, numerous reviews, recounts, and court cases demonstrated it was not true.
- Finally, he tried to get the Georgia total changed by extortion and veiled threats. Fortunately, that phone call was recorded and played for the world.
For the brainwashed, all of those were part of the false news or part of the conspiracy. After all, their leader told them that every day.
The count & riot
The news critters helped to incite the assault on the Capital. I channel-skipped through 5 news channels in the afternoon. CNN was showing the vote-counting. The other four were showing Trump’s agitation speech!
The brainwashed mob watched the speech and call to action on their cell phones. They were convinced they were doing their patriotic duty by tearing up the Constitution and attacking the Capitol building.
Trump’s action got 4 people killed.
But that’s not the first time. In my opinion, his inept handling of the virus may have cost tens of thousands of lives.
Personal lesson learned
I learned a big lesson with Trump. I will never vote for someone if they have not won an election and served an entire term at the state or federal level, where they do not have absolute power like in a business.
Electing a person with no experience is like having your surgery done by an expert chiropractor.
Also, one must watch for brainwashing. Advertisers use those techniques all of the time, but we recognize it for what it is.
Brainwashing happens when the recipient is not aware of what is happening.
Probably the most challenging task is to separate legitimate complaints, news and information from brainwashing because the brainwashing concepts make so much sense. They confirm your prejudices and stereotypes.
Everyone must find their own way to separate fact from fiction.
What now?
I wonder about the Senators who continued down that silly path after the riot and invasion of their offices. Are they brainwashed or do they have some ulterior motive for their actions.
Finally, what needs to be done to block more insanity during the last two weeks?
I haven’t the slightest idea. However, Facebook and Twitter have blocked Trump until the end of his term. At least, that is a start.
Quote from a Facebook friend about the riot:
Remember not to watch the news. It is slanted and never tells the truth as they once did. Patriots. Not any one party have decided to take back America before it is sold to the next foreign invader with large pockets!! Patriots.
The general concept:
