Innocence vs Experience

Life is hard — a poem

Photo by Rene Bernal on Unsplash

Life is easy; I’m content; All I need is what I have: A bed, a house, some food, a yard. Every day I go outside, Run among the trees and play, Read a book and watch TV, Go to school and hang with friends.

Life is tough is my lament: Check to check — when can I save? A car, a job, some kids — it’s hard. Every day I know I’ve tried To run the race, and I will pray That one day we’ll all be free, And I’ll be ready when life ends.
