A Bakers’ Dozen in the hunt for happiness:

1. Who is a friend or family member that makes you smile, and why?

My offspring, because they are my pride and joy. My love for each of them is larger than life itself.

2. What’s your favorite song that brings a smile to your face?

Oh this is hard to narrow down, I’ll choose “TOAST” By Koffee it is completely positive about gratitude, blessings, and being thankful. On top of that it is a hardcore reggae song that just reminds me instinctively how much I absolutely LOVE TO DANCE. It moves my body without my permission and I don’t mean a little sway, I turn into a YardGAL and Get Pon Da Beat. It forces my backside to return to my youth. Thank you for this reminder Trisha Faye. Just choosing the song and listening to it made me dance and smile.

3. Do you have a favorite pet or animal that fills your heart with love?

Just all of them. I love all animals and dogs have a very special place in my heart because I’m very natural and loving just like them so we connect and love on each other. . . on sight. I don’t currently keep an animal companion with me because I travel too much to be a good pet Mom, but I look forward to the day when I settle down and bring in some babies. In the mean time, I enjoy my random encounters with every love muffin I get a chance to connect with.

4. What’s your favorite quote that makes you feel good?

“Don’t just let life happen to you, make life happen for you.” Mom

5. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

What’s that??? On a beach, in the ocean, in the pool with fine dining and spa care sprinkled in all day.

6. When is a time that a stranger shared a kindness with you?

When I was sick last year I was constantly treated and cared for very well by strangers. One of my Doctors made several house calls. Stores that don’t deliver drove out to me to deliver my purchases. Doctors, Nurses. . .The ambulance driver that took me to the hospital and came to check on me the next day in the hospital. So much good fortune. I could go on and on.

7. What is your favorite book or movie that brings you joy when you read or watch it?

The Color Purple, I know every line.

8. What’s your favorite food?

Oh I’m a foodie. Ok Ok. Yams. . .No No No — Arugula…I mean Pickles. . . Asparagus, . . .Ok Ok Cacao. . .Coconut. . .Raspberries . . .Ok . . .YAMS or Almonds. . .LOL I told you I’m a foodie.

9. What is something you’ve done recently that makes you proud?

Not really feeling proud. Lot’s of gratitude. I’d have to take some time to think about it.

10. What’s a goal that you’re working towards?

Launching Maturity Inc’s’ Courses

11. What is your favorite smell?

Ylang Ylang — it was in a hair grease that was used in my hair when I was a child. I don’t like to smell it regularly, that would take away the nostalgic quality that it has. Just every now and then, it wafts through my life and I am transported to an inner city stoop with a cup of water, a brush, a comb, hair beads, barrettes and other adornments sitting close by. I’m sitting between someone’s legs getting my hair done in a beautiful cornrow style that will last for a week or two and I feel special.

12. What color makes you feel happy?

White.

13. Over the past week, what is something that brought you a moment of joy?

Spending quality time with my mother.

These questions brought me joy because the mind doesn’t really know the difference between what is happening and what it remembers. In revisiting those memories and thoughts I revisited those emotions and I experienced them. Thank you Trisha it works
