Impulsed Being A Friend of Medium

But now, do I keep it?

At the start of January, I signed up for Friend of Medium as soon as $116 hit my bank account! I was so thrilled to have done so well on Medium during December.

Sure, I had a little anxiety that it was just a fluke. It was only my first whole month of writing on the Medium platform.

I became a Friend of Medium because I wanted to support other writers. Others had been so good to me, commenting, complimenting, and giving encouragement. I couldn’t believe how great the community was.

So, I wanted to give something back. I know how that sounds! I know it sounds like I am full of myself.

Before I knew it, January was over! Today is the last day of the month!

$195.44 Not too shabby at all!

I published three times more stories this month than I did in December! So, I didn’t do as well per story. But I don’t care.

What has being a Friend of Medium meant to me? More people have followed me in the last month. They know they get paid more per read if I read their posts. This, for me, is great! I love followers, and I mostly follow back.

I will keep it for the benefit of others. If, at any point in time, I pay for Friend of Medium from my own money rather than earnings from the site, I will consider stopping the subscription.
