A Poem

I turn on PBS. It’s an intelligence committee or something and I do not see how that word connects to what I am seeing. Rich white men in suits talking and talking in ways that do not actually say anything it is boring, not compelling, it is passionless, and it is the usual typical status quo junk. We are living in these things that books have warned us about since forever, dystopian fiction and some kind of warnings in the bible even about camels and needles and hypocrisy and power, intentional obfuscation, purposeful distraction, bread, circuses, with the most ridiculous of clowns and puppets, the words go on and nothing is happening, almost four years have gone by and nothing has happened, (brown) kids in cages, (brown) kids in cages, (brown) kids in cages, babies taken from mothers, babies taken from fathers, babies put on trial, and here we are, another day, another dawn, another era of rich white men in suits talking and talking and talking some more to draw it out, waste our time, to drown us in ways that are as heavy as chains so that they stay in power via the mere default of our being too distracted, overwhelmed, stressed, confused, and exhausted to notice them anymore, while they put each other on “trial” and pretend to care about things like honesty or democracy or integrity or justice and then they end up doing the same old things they have always wanted to do anyway namely rape and pillage, plunder and destroy, get rich, get rich, stay rich, but now they do it in such boring af ways that we just tune out when we should be rioting we should be at this boring meeting tearing things apart with rage or we should let them have their stupid meetings of pointlessness because if this was going to happen and it it was any thing urgent to those “elected” to “represent” then it would have happened immediately not four years in almost but I digress — let them have their talks and meetings of useless words that are intentionally shaped to confuse twist shift hide pretend and get away with it all but while they are there perhaps we could, you and I, some friends, you and I, the majority of the population, you and I the masses, get out there, get down there, run for the border and free those kids from their cages, and on the way we can grab some hackers to finally do some good by erasing all student loan debt and all medical debt from every database, and we can run over to wherever it is that they make all those guns that kill students in school people at fairs families out shopping and replace all of the bullets with seeds so at least something will finally grow out of this at least something will finally care about life in this nation at least people will have to take a moment to stop, think, and make better choices about what we excuse, what we allow, what we support, and what we consistently hear as some sort of justification that this all is just the way it is and there’s nothing we can do about it, it is human nature, right? No. Human nature is to create and to cherish, human nature is to talk story and pass it down, human nature is to be in community and collaboration. Human nature is to cherish nature. This, all of this, from politics to the guns to the cages to the greed is not human nature, it’s monster nature, and it is way past time to impeach every single part of it.
