Immune
A Poem
Zora said there are years that ask questions and years that
give answers and I am sitting here wondering what kind of year is this
it is a year that screams it is a year that revels in mayhem
it is a year that tricked us all an impish year
a full blown devil year a why did we think we could have it better year
I look out my windows again, just again
the sky is blue grey the clouds are pink white and all around me
people are inside covering their ears from
this screaming screaming year waiting for the shouting to be done
waiting for the tricks and shenanigans to stop waiting for the freedom that comes
from being immune.
