I’m a Paid Writer For The First Time Ever

I’ve been writing for years. Over twenty-five years to be more accurate. In fact, it could be more, considering I wrote a very graphic and bloody story when I was thirteen years old. However, since then, I’ve been writing and mostly journaling my entire life to get through the rough times. I also had a blog for a short time on Livejournal about seven years ago. But this month, thanks to Medium, I’m now a paid writer.

I was paid $2.99 for my March blogs. So, yeah…technically I’m a paid writer.

This may not seem like a big deal, but considering my fear of and inconsistency with my writing life, this is HUGE!

I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and I have a lot to say. But sometimes I’m too scared to say it. Much of the stuff I’ve written so far is what I’ve been writing down for years, or a new idea will inspire me to quickly type out my thoughts. So far, I’ve written a fair amount of blogs in the past two months, from dating, to loss, letting go, growth and transformation. Slowly, I’m getting braver.

I’m grateful to my fiancé, who introduced me to Medium, and I belong as a member. It’s only $5/month, and I can write to my hearts content, and if another member likes my article and claps for me, I get paid a few cents. This is enough incentive for me to keep writing.

Thanks Medium, for finally making me a paid writer!
