Your Growth Has No Timeline

The time is right for your life to change

This morning I was talking with a friend of mine. She’s going through an accelerated growth phase right now in her life, so much so that she can hardly catch her breath! Immense gifts are coming her way, in so many forms. After her divorce, she’s gone through many phases. This is just the next rung on the ladder for her. When we were talking, she mentioned how she is evolving so quickly after so much time of being stagnant.

This is a very typical thing. We sometimes cannot predict or manage or control our learning. Sometimes when we’re in a stagnant existence and have had our growth stunted (such as may happen when we’re in an unhealthy relationship), that when we finally break free, there are massive changes that start happening to us.

Because we are changing so much on the inside, it may look like careening out-of-control chaos to others. It can look like snap decisions such as quitting your job, breaking up, moving to a new city, or taking a spontaneous trip.

It can look like not being your usual self to those who are close to you, where they are left scratching their heads saying to themselves, “What the hell is she doing now?”.

This is ok. This is normal.

Your growth has no timeline attached to it. It can lay dormant, or it can happen all at once. You may want things to go a certain way, and you’ll see resistance. Sometimes things will happen to you so quickly and easily that it blows your mind. The stars align and everything falls into place and what you never thought would happen in your life just happened! This divine intervention (or lack of it) is your growth.

Even when you have nothing happening or things are going in the wrong direction, it’s all growth. So, you can make intentions for yourself, I encourage you to do that. Set your sights high, and work towards what you want. You can even set deadlines (I encourage this too). Then let it all go. You were put on this planet for a purpose, and whether you know what that is or not, whether you’re currently expressing it or not, you have divine guidance always working for you, giving you what you need at the time you need it.

Even if you experience devastating things in your life (death, divorce, or any other loss), this is of course part of life, and this is a cycle that must be experienced. This is not a new thought, it’s as old as time. But I feel it’s important to reiterate it. And the next time you’re frustrated with things not going your way, know this life is a continuous gift for you.

So, Grow forward and be your true self!
