If You’re 23 Years Old (Or Any Age Really) Read This

You’re right where you need to be.

I am 23 years old.

I keep telling everyone it’s my Michael Jordan Year. And why shouldn’t it be? The basketball star was a legend and success.

I want to do the same. I stand by his quote:

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” — Michael Jordan

Jordan failed many times over the years, and so did other well known people. Here, take a look:

Those Who Failed Early On

At 23 years old:

  • J.K. Rowling was broke.
  • Jeff Bezos worked at McDonald’s.
  • Walt Disney had declared bankruptcy.
  • Barack Obama was a community organizer.

If they would’ve all given up on the dreams, I don’t know what kind of world we would be in. We sure as heck wouldn’t be living the same lives today.

I couldn’t imagine the world without:

  • Harry Potter
  • Amazon
  • Walt Disney World
  • Obama’s presidency and leadership

But at 23 years old, they all were in different phases of their life, right where they needed to be at that moment to eventually end up where they needed to do.

I’m realizing the same.

At 23 years old, I have much to be grateful for:

  • My family and friends.
  • My passions to write and create.
  • My people skills.
  • My curiosity to learn more.

But I’m not yet where I want to be:

  • I’m not yet a millionaire.
  • I’m not yet a best selling author.
  • I’m not yet spending every second of the day how I please.

But I’m getting there. And here’s the secret.

Time Is On Our Side

Gary Vee and Mel Robbins can attest to this most likely. We are all young. Whether at 23 or 53, we all can change our lives.

It doesn’t matter how old we are now. We have not yet lived to our full potential. But if we keep going, we will get there someday.

I’m realizing that everything doesn’t have to happen for us right now. And the beauty of it all. The journey perhaps.

And that’s what it’s all about.

Closing Thoughts

If you’re 23 like me or whatever age you may be, and you want to change your life, you have time! So, do it!

Even the most successful people in history were just getting started at 23. And you are too.

We all are.
