Where Is My Place

I have never felt this world was my reality I didn’t quite fit in My appearance was a formality Something that was expected, to my parent’s chagrin

I did as I was told Wanted so badly to please Little did I know I was being controlled All I could do was appease

Many years later, I learned Through near death My voice came hard-earned When you get a second chance at life and one more breath

Everything Changes I learned my place People have their exchanges Now, I take it with security and grace

I set my boundaries Stand my place And I never let them drain my batteries I must live each day with pride and grace, for my life cannot be replaced

For many years, I felt as if I did not fit in. Now, I understand it was a blessing. Standing out is beautiful, but it was uncomfortable when I was young and vulnerable. I didn’t understand why people stared at me. Now I know it is because I AM different, and I am proud of that.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Hug the ones you love and tell the people you love how much you love them. Get started on your goals and dreams today; do not wait until you are “ready” because there is no such thing. And, in case no one has told you yet today…YOU are amazing.

Peace & Light,

Libby

I would like to mention two writers today. Erika Burkhalter’s story about her trip to South Africa was awe-inspiring. Her photos were National Geographic level. Nour Boustani awakens minds with his thought-provoking article on education for the future. His illustrations bring the article to life — it really is a masterpiece.
