It’s August

Here we are again, in the month of transition. August is notorious in my life for the feeling of dread, for the spin of the calendar, for the nostalgia which hits me in the solar plexus — a stunning spell of emotion.

I was at a concert with my husband last weekend, and we wallowed in the “yesteryears” quite a bit. I am so glad he remembers things — his librarian's brain keeps up with names, dates, and little details that swirl in my mind in the present. The memories seem to leave me while I am on to the next thing but come back to me as intense emotion. This seems to be happening more and more. I love my life adventure, but I think that one of the reasons I write so much is so I don’t forget. See, I have proof! There is documentation!

My son is about to be in middle school! I am going to start my 24th year of teaching! How? Slow down!

Time continuum angst. That’s what I have.
