You might be surprised where your next idea will come from.
If there is anything I learned from life, it is to expect the unexpected. That is not a bad thing, especially when we are in desperate need of writing ideas.
For many of us, having to write daily is not the issue. Not writing on the same topic and recycling those same ideas is.
How do we break out of that box? How can we get fresh exposure and new perspectives?
We have to start paying attention to our environment for unexpected events.
Unexpected Source of Inspiration # 1 — A Place We Never Been.
Travelling broadens our horizons.
We do not have to go that far. We can step out of our house and get to places we do not patronize.
Maybe, the library?
Head there, take a seat and read a book. You will be amazed by that level of calmness in the air.
Unexpected Source of Inspiration # 2 — Email Notifications From Inactive Sources.
There are some emails we trash before opening. Recently, a Quora triggered email banner popped into my phone screen.
The question was: Where to find writing inspiration?
That gave birth to this story.
Unexpected Source of Inspiration # 3 — Long Lost Friends.
Maybe someone at the shopping mall caught your attention.
She could be your ex-girlfriend, now with two children. You might be surprised how well she has been living without you.
We can learn something new.
Sometimes, the best ideas come from unexpected sources.
