It was an incredibly cold day in the Ice Age. Then again, every day was an incredibly cold day in the Ice Age.
Ugh was riding on a woolly mammoth through the snowy mountains of what is nowadays Canada, hoping to get back to his cave before dusk.
All of a sudden the furry creature got a strange tingling feeling. The mammoth was also a bit distressed and stopped.
The mammoth looked down and saw a rodent type of creature at its feet, which freaked him out and made him stumble and turn until Ugh couldn't hold on any longer.
He was tossed off the mammoth into a pond with a thin layer of ice which broke as Ugh’s body hit it.
He dropped into the icy waters and continued to sink as his many furs weighed him down.
But Ugh summoned all his strength and began to paddle his way up to the surface.
As he got close, he saw a big flash of light on the other side that blinded him for a brief moment, then disappeared.
Ugh opened his eyes and continues on until he got to the surface and pulled up his body over the edge of the pond.
“What was that,” he thought.
Once he got back on his feet he looked around for his mammoth but did not see him in the vicinity.
Suddenly, he heard a roar from the sky and looked up.
It was the woolly mammoth flying around above him.
“Wow,” he sighed, then called the animal by whistling with two fingers in his mouth.
The mammoth slowly descended to the ground.
Ugh approached him cautiously.
“What happen to mammoth when Ugh in water?!”
He examined his four-legged pal and found nothing different with him other than the fact he could now fly.
“Now Ugh no make you into dinner,” the caveman got back up on the mammoth, and the two soared into the sky.
“To cave,” Ugh shouted.
“Hey,” someone yelled from the ground. “Help!”
Ugh looked down and saw a blond-haired cavewoman surrounded by hyenas.
The mammoth headed in a downward trajectory toward the distressed female.
“What are you doing? Leave her here,” Ugh said as the mammoth descended.
“I heard that,” she said.
The hyenas dispersed as soon as they saw the giant creature land.
“Aren’t you gonna help me up, you Neanderthal?” she gave Ugh a clear look of dissatisfaction.
“Only father of Ugh Neanderthal… ok, here,” Ugh extended his arm.
“Whatever,” the female climbed up on the mammoth behind Ugh.
“Ew, when’s the last time you or your mammoth had a bath? You stink!”
Ugh hit her on the head with his club and she collapsed over his shoulder.
“This better,” he said, and the mammoth flew back up to take them home.
