I Will Come and Fulfill Your Desires

Dreams, Barriers, Love

A small brain brings intense mental turmoil.

One day, I will come, bearing a message I will pour light into veins and cry out: O baskets filled with dreams! I bring apples, red apples of the sun.

I will come, offering a jasmine flower to a beggar, Another earring for a beautiful leper woman. To the blind, I will say: What a spectacle the garden holds! I will roam the alleys, tap on doors, And chant: O dew, dew, dew. A guide will declare: Indeed, the night is a dark one, I will bestow upon it a galaxy.

On the bridge, a footless maiden, I will hang a drum around her neck.

I will pluck insults from lips, Break down walls.

To the bandits, I will say: A caravan has arrived, burdened with smiles! I will tear the clouds apart. I will tie knots, Eyes with the sun, hearts with love, shadows with water, branches with the wind. And I will join them, the child’s dream with the whispers of the locusts.

I will send kites into the air, Give water to the flower pots.

I will come before horses, cows, caressing green grass, I will pour.

A thirsty midday will bring the dew bucket, I will swat the flies of its stubborn donkey.

I will plant a sapling on top of every wall, Read a poem at every window. Give every crow a pine tree, Tell the snake: What splendor the frog holds! I will bring peace, Make acquaintances, Walk the path, Absorb the light, And love.

I will harmonize dreams, dispel darkness, and embrace love in life’s symphony.
