I Want To See Your Words

As you stare into the abyss, with your thoughts racing Full of doubt, frustration, and all your resentments What do you do? Do you give up? Let it all go? No. You plunge yourself in and start writing those words again Pouring everything that’s pent up in your head onto the page Get your words out there where they can be seen Don’t let them just float around in your head, clouding up your thoughts and weighing you down. Get them out there, where they can be seen by the world Put your words into a story, poem, or whatever medium that suits you, and gets those words out there to the world around you And what about the world around us? What about the people you want to share with? There are few who are willing to give creative criticism on what you do. Most people are those who will ask you to stop what you do and just get a job. They don’t see how passionate you are about your work and how committed you can be to it. “But Aug, what if it doesn’t work out? What if all the hard work has been for nothing?” Then I’ll tell you this, Sibylle: “You will never know unless you try.” I want to see your words out there for everyone to see.

I’ve been missing you, and it’s not because we’re not close, It’s not because we can’t have these conversations It’s not because I don’t want to be with you.

I keep thinking about this time when I was so scared of being alone, How my first thought was always to write a poem. But it doesn’t seem like much of an issue when I’m with you, the one person that matters most in the world to me.

Turns out your words were always there. You just couldn’t see them until now because they are small and slow, like bats. But you can do anything with words if you try hard enough, And your brains is so hungry for them that it will eat up the dark.
