I Tried the Medium Enhanced Stats Chrome Extension
My Honest Opinion So Far
Thanks to Mike Lewis for sharing this gold nugget with me. It’s called the Medium Enhanced Stats Chrome Extension.
I used to see screenshots from this extension on Medium stories, having no idea what the heck it was. I thought it was some page buried deep in the stats/analytics on Medium.
But, on one of my latest Medium stories…
Mike was so kind to point it out to me.
I was trying to calculate how many views I had on Medium so, I went to my Stats page, sorted my articles from most viewed to least viewed, and started counting.
I counted pages and pages and pages of articles until I hit one million views. Once I reached one million I stopped.
In that article above, I asked the audience about if there was an easier way to find out how many views I had gotten on Medium and that’s when Mike and other commenters pointed out the plugin so, I downloaded it.
Here’s my honest opinion about the Medium Enhanced Stats Chrome Extension
To find the extension, I just Googled it.
It turned up this page…

I downloaded it and added it to my bookmarks bar..

Here’s what it looks like…

There it is, laid it out nice and neatly.
I love to dive into the numbers like this so the data is super helpful. I went to some Medium authors’ pages to see if I could view their stats and I couldn’t so, I guess it’s only for me, which is fine.
How I plan to use it
I’ll check in periodically to see how my stats are changing over time.
My next milestone is 2 million views so I’ll follow up every few months or so to see how I’m progressing toward that goal.
TL;DR
I downloaded the Medium Enhanced Stats Chrome extension.
I like it.
