The Mental Cloak

Allow me to paint a picture of my relationship with coffee and how it transformed my daily routine. Think about a scenario that’s all too familiar for us all.

During a crucial early-morning meeting at our company, merely 10 minutes into the session, I found myself struggling to stay awake. Despite my efforts to focus, it felt futile. Eventually, I surrendered to the drowsiness.

When I got home later that day, I had to review my habits and take remedial action. My notes were bad! I mean really bad! Scarce baaaad! It wasn’t an absolute disaster, but I had definitely missed several vital cues during the meeting. To say that I overlooked some minor details would be an understatement. I vividly recall the trainer delving into technicalities regarding MS Suite. I had to resort to jotting down only the major headings or themes, planning to educate myself later through YouTube tutorials and articles on those topics.

The Coffee Phase

I thought coffee was the solution because almost everybody at the office drank it, and there was a fancy coffee machine with good coffee beans for free! but before, I had always drank other stuff like tea and juice.Well, ironically, my venture into coffee drinking stemmed from reading about its reputed benefits for good health and long life, particularly as advocated by renowned individuals who extolled its aid in maintaining focus and mental acuity during demanding workdays. They even went so far as to assert that nothing compares to coffee — calling tea for the faint-hearted and cowards that coffee exudes a certain positive energy.
