I Started Blogging With $0 And Made Over $15K
This is my painful story of starting my blog In 2017.
Blogging is easy but you have to give it more time then you think. I started blogging in 2017 when I was just entered into my College. I was just fed up and don’t want to make money from my father. I was 19 years old. If you are an American or living in a western country then you can understand this. In Asian culture, you are not permitted to get odd jobs. Government jobs are highly favorable.
I also worked as a Polio worker. But, that was just two days a week and the money I have made is not enough. Then, I started teaching students in Physics and Mathematics. Teaching was a good job, I enjoyed it but still, the money I was making from the Teaching wasn’t enough to support me.
Then, one day I opted to give a try to make money on the Internet.
I have no money and to get a domain and hosting, you need money. I started my research and found out that you can make money from Blogging without investing, the idea was to ‘start a free blog on Blogger.com’
Starting blogging with an additional domain name is a very bad idea, your posts get ranked up and there are very few plug-ins available for people who want to automate their processes.
I made over $200 from my blog writing for 12 months, most of those topics were based on “How-To,s”
I got my Google AdSense earning and invest in making my custom domain.
Now, I was feeling equal to other bloggers.
My Custom Domain
I brought a custom domain with the money I have made from the hosted blog. I started writing a long piece of content on my blog. That’s my previous 28 days of traffic stat. from the Google search.
I learned alot of things like;
- Search engine optimization. Rank №1 On Google By Understanding Search Engine Console
- How to get people to your blog.
- How to make money from your blog.
All these things take time and money to learn. I believe in ‘Learning by doing’ this is a very simple concept of knowing things.
This was the time when I was in college.
Later on, I started hiring people for writing blog posts on my Wordpress blog. The other thing I discovered in my way is ‘Pinterest’ Pinterest is like a heaven for a blogger. I am also going to write about Pinterest marketing in the coming month. I hope you guys will enjoy that story. All these stories are published in a Medium publication Menlo-office
Blogging is not something you can rely on. Google search engine update their search algorithm more than 100 times a month, nobody knows when you lose all your traffic, but, the only thing that matters is to get traffic from Sites like Quora and other user-generated sites where there are alot of users who are contributing to that platform.
There was a time when I was making $2,000 with my blog in a month but that revenue drop to almost half in two quarters. I already know it that is why I have never relied upon it instead it tried to invest the money I made from blogging in other platforms like, Quora, YouTube and learning courses. The learning never stops.
I have made more than $100 in a day from Google AdSense and my blog. I also write an article about “How to make $100/day from Google AdSense”
Blogging on Medium
This is something i am very interested in. I started writing on Medium from March 2019, it has been more than 10 months as of writing this article. Initially, I was not part of the Medium Partner program, I joined the Medium partner program at the start of January of this year.
This is how much traffic i have got on Medium this month.
Most of the traffic coming from the search engine. I only got nearly 100 Medium member views.
As January has been officially ended, i also write a story revealing my January medium partner program earning and the marketing strategy i used to promote my medium stories.
