I Spent Over $700 On Two Dating Coaches Only To Realize These Three Things

Is it worth a penny to spend this much money for a dating coach?

Have you ever watched Youtube videos about “how to make someone love you?” or “How to make your crush notice you?” I spent months watching those videos because I liked someone, and it seems like he didn't want me back.

I found two dating coaches on Youtube, and they looked legit. They offer a one on one coaching and an online course that you can buy. I bought their practices and had one with them, but it was for two different reasons.

Dating Coach 1: My situation was someone love bombed me, and when I told him I liked him too, he ghosted me. I felt hurt and desperate to see him and ask him why he had disappeared. I called this guy every day, but he never answered me. I was insecure and wanted to feel comfortable, so I booked an appointment with a dating coach and got some advice on what to do with my situation. She told me some essential advice to focus on healing and try something new in my life rather than crying in the corner of my room waiting for him to call back.

Dating Coach 2: My situation was I agreed with an FWB, but I never had sex with this guy, but we talked every day. We sometimes meet when he goes to my city. To make the story short, I got emotionally attached to him, and he didn't have any feelings for me. I wanted to take revenge. I wanted to hurt this guy’s ego for not having feelings for me as I had feelings for him. So, I asked this dating coach what I should do to hurt this guy’s ego. He gave me some practical advice and told me not to talk to him anymore and end the communication with him.

Here’s the breakdown of how much I sent to dating coaches:

$155: one on one coaching (with the dating coach 1) $100: one on one coaching (with the dating coach 2) it’s cheaper because it was only on WhatsApp $450: Online course from dating coach two because he updated it, and he has a lot of videos $70: Online course from dating coach one because it was on the Facebook group and only added people who paid $70.

Three things I’ve learned from two dating coaches:

  1. You cannot make someone love you → There is no magic formula to make someone love you. There is no such thing as “how to make someone love you” because no matter how you tried to make someone fall in love with you, it will not happen. I know how crazy we get when we fall in love with someone. I know how it feels when we like someone and want them to like us back. There is no secret formula to make them love us.
  2. Life is not about the relationship → these two dating coaches were talking about self-improvement. They both had the same mentality about growth. I’ve spent my whole life thinking about “the one” for me, thinking about relationships, but I’ve realized that life is not about being in a relationship. Some people who are in a relationship are not even happy. Don’t
  3. Some people are not for me, and I am not for them → There are certain people that you need in life. Some people are there to stay in your life, people you need, and people for you. When I was heartbroken knowing that the guy I liked didn't like me, I thought it was the end of the world. I became emotional and felt insecure. If someone doesn't like me back, I have to accept that not everyone is for me, and not everyone will like me, which is okay.

The dating coaches didn't tell me all these things; I have realized it on my own.

Is it worth spending $700 on two dating coaches? → To be straightforward, getting relationship advice is not worth spending that much money. Those two dating coaches were not professionally trained and didn’t even have a psychology background.

Those two dating coaching didn’t guarantee that I would get the man I liked. Nobody can force anyone to love somebody. They were more of self-care and self-love, but they didn’t have the secret formula to make the guy like me because it didn't exist.

I spent hundreds of dollars to see what those dating coaches had to offer, hoping that the guy I liked would like me back. Only to realize these three things: you cannot make someone love you no matter how you force them, life is not about relationships, you have to focus on yourself because you are the most valuable person in the Universe, and certain people are there to stay in your life.

Relationships these days are far from what it was before the rise of technologies. These days it is easy to commit to hooking up, and dating nowadays is like testing the water to see if it will work.
