I Post 3-5 Articles Per Day on Medium — Here’s How I Did It!
Writing articles can be a great way to drive traffic to your website and provide valuable content for your readers.
As content writers, we are constantly wondering how can we write more articles and constantly provide new information.
Having to write every day seems impossible; let alone writing 3~5 articles per day. But I have found my method to get more writing done which I believe could help you get started writing more without having the trouble of writer's block.
How to Write Consistently
Writer’s block is every content writer's worst nightmare. The inability to think and pen down a good article will cause a bad readership in the work.
The key is to have a plan in place. First, set a goal for how many articles you want to write each month or week. For me, it was to write 100 articles every 30 days, this help me to stay motivated and on track.
Step 1: Build the Title, Headings, and Sub-Headings
The title grabs most of the attention to help convert viewers into readers. It’s no wonder large publications are spending a good amount of their time working on creating the perfect structure for the article.
The heading and sub-heading also help direct the readers to relevant information that they are looking for. Having a short and easy-to-understand heading does help drive the readers to look around the article longer.
Step 2: Research who this content should be targeted at
Next, research topics that are relevant to your business or audience. This will help you come up with ideas for your articles and provide the best informative content for them.
If your content is targeted at a younger audience, having a direct and simple is the way to approach it. If your content is targeted at future engineers, having a ‘wow’ factor is an important way to showcase your article to stand out.
By understanding who your readers should be, writers will be able to deliver better content that is right for the targeted audience.
Step 3: Add Content and build internal and external links
Once you have a plan in place, the rest is easy. Just keep writing. The key is to provide value to your readers. Make sure the content is engaging and informative.
To build up trust and loyalty to the work, having past article work and relevant articles online as internal and backlinks adds credentials to the article. This makes the article stands out better and helps the reader look into other relevant topics to understand the subject better.
Step 4: Schedule work in advance
We only have 24 hours a day, 6 to 9 hours go to well-needed rest, and the others are how much you can optimize for work. If you are working a full-time job(I assume a 9–6), the hours you need to get content written is drastically lower.
Essentially, you need to find ways to optimize the remaining hours. Being productive is required to get more work done. So at the end of every day, writer must spend at least 20 minutes, to sum up step 1 and 2 so that step 3 would be a lot easier to write about.
Other relevant tips: Get in the Zone
Go for it if you require a quiet working environment! Take some coffee if you need to feel more energized. And if listening to loud music helps you focus, do that!
Although content writing is not a difficult task, it does require a level of intense concentration to complete the required amount of work. So make the effort to get yourself ready to work for at least 2 hours a day to produce 3 ~ 5 articles.
Why I Post 3~5 article daily
Although one might suggest that pushing 3~5 articles per day may be stretching too much for a freelance writer. It is entirely possible with the right approach and habit you create for yourself.
This has helped me build a loyal following quickly and keep your readers coming back for more. With a bit of practice, you’ll be writing more articles in no time. So get out there and start writing!
