It’s exhilarating every time I sit down to write. I imagine a singer warming up their voice, and the notes carry beautifully floating harmoniously through the air. I can hardly sing a jiggle, but I know when my fingers reach for my pencil or keyboard, I feel as if a straight jacket is being removed. My ribs expand, and I get the fullest breath my body has ever taken. My writer’s voice is warmed up for sharing and speaking to all who will listen.

This is the first time I’ve made money for my writing. It is still second to my long-awaited joy of writing and my son’s fantastic effort to win $50 on 10-minute trivia games through an education app. Proud vibes are all around.
