I Look Up

Joy on Tap – prompted by Trista Ainsworth

Rainbow — photo my own

Wednesdays are a true gift for me at the moment.

Both my children are occupied elsewhere.

One at school, the other spending time with grandparents.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my girls…but.. I also love some time for me.

It is when I get to read and write on my own…no “Muuuuum’s!” until the school bell rings.

Pure joy!

A joy I didn’t realise I had missed as much as I had during isolation. Hindsight – another joy.

Anyways — back to the story.

This morning, I was reading along happily when I remembered “Bins!”

Since we started composting the usual bin doesn’t need to get out much, but our recycling bin was absolutely chokers.

As I was walking it to the curb, I looked up.

Oh my.

What a gift.

A full rainbow with a faint hint of a double.

The sky.

The sky never ceases to give me joy.

My photos filled with skies, even since I was a kid. My mother would ask to have a look after picking them up from the developers…yep the days when we used film. She would giggle at me spending my pocket money on so many pictures of the sky.

The sky gifts me joy each and everytime I look up.

Here are a few (of literary thousands) I had on hand. Each of them capturing a moment of pure joy.

I really love the sky — photos my own
