I Just Made My First Dollar Writing On Medium!

5 big tips that totally improved my writing!

I’ve been writing on Medium for a few weeks now and I have just made my first dollar.

It wasn’t easy, but it was worth the effort, time, and experience.

I’ve learned tips on how to improve my writing, patience, and appreciation.

5 things I’ve done to improve my writing experience.

  1. Read articles about being a better writer
  2. Communicated with other writers
  3. Put away time every day to write
  4. Relaxed and wrote what was in my head
  5. Familiarized myself with different publications

I will continue to do the upper 5 things and try to improve on them constantly.

Another thing I’ve learned from my experience on Medium is patience. It takes time to do many things with the process.

  • It takes time to clearly write an article on a subject that you are trying to educate and teach the reader about.
  • It takes time to accumulate 100 followers and the more you write every day, the quicker you get to your goal.
  • It takes time to start making money with your own writing.
  • It takes time to be accepted into some publications not to mention them accepting your articles.

The last thing that I have learned is appreciation and pride.

I feel very proud of all the work, writing, and patience I’ve been putting into my writing on Medium.

I also appreciate the process of everything from the very beginning:

  • Signing up on Medium and spending the 5 bucks! (I actually paid for the year……saved $10. I’m not stupid!)
  • Researching a little about how to write, edit, use pictures, titles, etc.
  • Hitting ‘Publish’ and realizing that I am a writer now. (though not accomplished)
  • Seeing my ‘claps’ and ‘highlights’ and replying to comments.
  • Writing my 2nd article and learning how to get followers.
  • Getting 100 followers and being able to make money with my writing.

In conclusion:

It’s been an exciting and hard-working bunch of weeks and I know I am only at step 1 of many along the way to becoming a writing millionaire! (or at least thousandaire!!). I hope not just ‘hundredaire’??

I look forward to meeting many more new writers and getting comments and feedback from them to help my writing journey.
